Another driving day today; not as brutal as the day before but still almost five hours in the car.

The only stop we made was at the Columbia River gorge:

An interesting note about the weather: inland and at the higher elevations, it’s just turned from summer to fall, so the further west we got the warmer and sunnier it got.

Total trip length: 2,641 miles (4,250km). Subtracting our one day without driving in Jackson, that’s an average of 264 miles (425km) per day.

I really enjoyed the trip and was glad it went well. We’re both pretty exhausted an looking forward to our own beds.
